Email Sent to Marsha Blackburn's Office for Assistance in Getting Approval in Delegation Visit to Cuba.
A Mother/Daughter delegation is being formed to travel to Cuba in spring 2014 to research pre teen attitudes toward Cuban people and culture.
The concept is to establish bicultural RESPECT.
In her mid twenties Bovat participated in leading a teenage delegation to Mazatlan - she spent a week teaching high school graduates how to appreciate the people of Mexico, enjoy local foods and when listening to Jimmy Buffet tunes how to stand on a table, dance and hold a Corona ALL at the same time. Years later Sharyn learned that those participating were more respectful to diversity.
What's needed is on OFAC Approval Sharyn learned about those while attending a Sanctions conference in Washington DC last month. By doing this she'll have something to look forward to & be able to show her child the world - just like her mom did. Cuba sounds better than the Carnation Revolution.
Specific Licenses for People to People Transactions: Specific licenses may be issued by OFAC to travelers involved in educational activities under the auspices of an organization that sponsors and organizes such programs to promote people-to-people contact but are not involved in academic study pursuant to a degree program.
